-
Decreasing the level of the parking charge only benefits the non-compliant motorist.
-
If there are concerns around the standards of the parking sector, then the answer is to raise standards for the sector, not to make the financial deterrent of a parking charge less.
-
If the concern is too many parking charges being issued, the answer is not to decrease the deterrent; the answer is to strengthen compliance.
-
Enforcement should be paid by those who break the rules, not the compliant motorist
-
Encourages resolution prior to court.
-
The discounted rate, parking charge and Escalation fee are all linked; if you change one, you impact them all.
-
Enabling the sector to self-fund rather than use government funds.
-
We, the sector, are achieving greater consistency
-
24% appeals are found in favour of the motorist

Must encourage compliance and
deter non-compliance
Our priority is to raise and maintain high standards and conduct within the Private Parking sector. We ensure our members can manage sites in an effective way, whilst making the terms clear for motorists. This ensures motorists can park where they need to when accessing the NHS, local high street and other facilities. We also ensure motorists are given the opportunity to appeal, should they feel a Parking Charge has been issued in error or outside of the Code of Practice.
Are issued to repeat offenders.
